Midwinter Mingle: A Festive Dine and Dance Experience

Join us at First United Presbyterian Church of Dale City for a vibrant evening celebrating the flavors and rhythms of winter! Enjoy a delicious Salvadorian-inspired dinner, followed by an exhilarating dance session with the beloved Soulfire Band.

Schedule:
👶 Childcare Drop-off: 5:45 PM
🍽️ Dinner: 6:00 PM
💃 Dance: 7:00 PM to 8:45 PM

Dinner Menu:

  • Salad: Choose from a classic house salad or a creamy Caesar salad.

  • Buffet: Dive into our street taco bar featuring chicken, steak, and a veggie/vegan option with sautéed mushrooms.

  • Sides: Savor the flavors of our vegan-friendly rice and beans.

  • Specialty: Delight in two pupusas per person, available in cheese and bean (vegetarian) or cheese and pork.

  • Dessert: Indulge in a sweet slice of Tres Leches Cake.

Beverages:

  • Refresh with choices of lemonade, water, and tea.

Entertainment:

  • Dance the night away to the electrifying sounds of Soulfire Band, playing a lively mix of classics and modern hits sure to keep your feet moving! Soulfire are friends who started playing together many years ago as a church band, and now they play local venues in and around Arlington and Fairfax. Their dance music gets feet tapping, and their love for familiar groups - Beatles, Tom Petty, Rolling Stones, Steely Dan - makes their covers accessible. They love to play - so come join the fun!

  • Not a dancer? No problem! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the amazing sounds of Soulfire while others burn up the dance floor. Whether you’re dancing or simply soaking in the music, it’s an evening you won’t want to miss.

SPEAKER: Rev. Emilee Williams, a Presbyterian Church (USA) pastor and trained spiritual director. Emilee founded The Grace Lab in 2020 to design and facilitate retreats for faith communities during the pandemic. In the five years since, it has continued to grow and thrive, coming alongside communities with workshops, retreats, and spiritual direction opportunities. Grace Lab retreats are known for their thoughtful research, honest and engaging material, and creative facilitation. Emilee is an alum of Princeton Theological Seminary and Oasis Ministries for Spiritual Direction, where she was trained in Ignatian spirituality. She also holds a certificate in Spiritual Entrepreneurship from Columbia Business School and Glean Network. In addition to the Grace Lab, Emilee serves as Associate Pastor of Fairfax Presbyterian Church in Northern Virginia. She lives in Arlington, VA with her husband, a theological librarian, and young son, Oliver.
