Earth Care at FUPCDC

Let the trees of the forest sing,
Let them sing for joy before the Lord.
1 Chronicles 16:33

FUPCDC has been a certified Earth Care Congregation for more than 6 years. We have a very active Earth Care Team that has brought numerous improvements to sustainability efforts at the church and into the community, including:

  • Installing a Solar Array at FUPCDC - bringing renewable energy to the church [COMING IN 2026]

  • Collecting recyclable items that are donated to several nonprofit organizations, including Medical Missionaries and Soles4Souls

  • Promoting sustainable practices through various means including knowledgeable speakers, monthly articles, and social media

  • Collecting prom dresses & formal attire and donating them to Hope for Appalachia

  • Installing Helpsy collection bins for textiles and shoes in our parking lot to encourage reuse of these items in lieu of landfilling

Contact the church office at 703-670-7834 or office@fupcdc.org to become part of the Earth Care Team or to share your ideas of ways to care for God’s Creation.

IN PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY

RECYCLING.jpg

What to recycle in Prince William County. Please note that the thin, number 1 and 2 plastics, such as fruit containers cannot be recycled in this county. Also remember NOT to place your recyclables in plastic bags in the recycle bin. This plastic is not recyclable and clogs up the machinery.

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!
