Daniel L. Scearce
Daniel Scearce has been involved in Christian music for more than 40 years, beginning with singing in church at age ten. His passion for contemporary worship has shaped his ministry, and he has spent decades leading praise ensembles, mentoring vocal teams, and helping congregations experience vibrant, Spirit-led worship.
For over 20 years, Daniel has served as a Music Director in two congregations within the DC Metro area. From 2002–2013, he served as Music Director at Metropolitan Community Church of Northern Virginia (Fairfax, VA), where he led an SATB choir, directed a ten-member contemporary ensemble, and collaborated on worship planning. He later served as Music Director at Metropolitan Community Church of Washington, D.C. from 2014–2020, working closely with praise team musicians, selecting worship music, and shaping weekly contemporary services. In both churches, Daniel became known for his collaborative leadership style, musical excellence, and his ability to bring out the best in praise team members of all backgrounds and experience levels.
Daniel brings a deep love for worship and a broad musical background—from contemporary Christian to southern gospel—to his new role as Provisional Praise Team Leader at First United Presbyterian Church of Dale City. He is excited to walk alongside the FUPCDC Praise Team, helping the ensemble grow, shine, and lead the congregation in joyful, authentic worship.
He is grateful to be part of the FUPCDC family and looks forward to serving the church during this season of ministry.
